Atlanta Workers’ Compensation Attorney – Can I receive both Georgia Workers’ Compensation benefits and Social Security/Disability benefits at the same time?

This is a question that appears more and more these days. I have clients who as a result of their workers compensation injuries, they qualify and start receiving social security disability benefits. They get them both at the same time. Once the workers compensation claim is resolved, the social security disability benefits increase slightly.

Recently, I had a client who was receiving social security disability prior to her work related injury. As you can imagine, she was concerned that she would have her benefits either lowered or completely stopped. It is possible that they will lower the social security disability benefits, but they will likely increase once you are have resolved the workers compensation claim.

If you are seriously injured on the job, and are concerned about your legal rights, call my office at 912-508-4711 in Savannah or 770-948-5454 in Atlanta, the consultation is free.

  • Awesome Lawyer and very helpful!

  • Mr. Wilson is truly a very good person who cares about people. I understand he selected this career but I do know he makes many sacrifices to help he’s clients. I am very grateful to have had him as my attorney and if I ever have to use one again (hopefully not) it will be Mr. Wilson.

  • He worked with me. He told me everything. He called me. He gave me all the information.

  • He will be my family lawyer from now until the end because I can trust him.

  • He's just a great guy.

  • He always calls you right back and even if it's on the weekend - he's going to call you back.
