Pickup Truck Passenger Ejected in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

A man was severely injured and ultimately died as a result of being thrown from a pickup truck bed on Interstate 285 just after 2pm near New Northside Drive.

According to investigators the pickup truck driver sideswiped another vehicle causing the pickup truck driver to lose control and flip.  As a result, the forty five year old rear passenger was thrown to his death.  The other two people in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and the car they swiped was not injured.

Currently under Georgia law it is illegal to carry a passenger in the rear of a pickup truck, but no charges are pending at this time.  Sandy Springs police are holding the name of the dead passenger until such time as they can notify the family.
