Unfortunately we are seeing more and more of this in the workers compensation field. If you are injured on the job or at work, doing the job you were hired to do and are injured, your employer should provide you medical care for the injuries you sustained.
What is happening a lot lately is the employer is ignoring the request for medical care and pushing the employee back to work, the whole time claiming they did not know they were hurt and if the employee can still work then they were not hurt badly enough for the employer to turn it over to their workers compensation insurance carrier or they do not wish to pay out of pocket.
The reality is if you are injured on the job or hurt at work you should push to get medical care. Your employer is not going to like it. But if you do not push for medical care, what happens when you can not work because of a serious injury you tried to work through. The reality is you will, because you will not be able to work, at the same job in the future because of your injury and you may not be able to obtain any work depending upon your skill set or job marketability.
As such, you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to seek medical care if you have no insurance and can not afford to go to the doctor, then you have to push to go through workers compensation as that is the responsibility of the employer. They may not like it but it is their responsibility none the less. If you can not get anywhere with your employer you should contact a Georgia workers compensation attorney immediately.
