A one-car wreck took the life of an infant on Monday night according to WSAV.com.
It happened on I-516 around 11:15 p.m. along the exit to Veterans Parkway. Police reported that 29-year-old, Natasha Thomas, flipped her SUV after losing control of it.
Eric Goodwin, one-month old, was ejected from the vehicle. Police say, however, that the baby was in a car seat. Thomas and two other kids, 5-year-old, Na’Chelle Thomas, and 10-year-old, Na’Erykah Goodwin were transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries per police. The baby was also transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
As per police, Thomas made a call to 911 reporting that her vehicle was hit by another vehicle before flipping over.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating the incident and are asking the public to report any information on the wreck to Traffic Investigation at 525-2421 or to Crimestoppers at 234-2020. Information can also be texted to CRIMES (274637).
Our deepest sympathies go to Ms. Thomas and her family as they mourn the loss of little Eric. We hope that Ms. Thomas and her children are able to make full recoveries from their injuries.
