According to the Newnan Times-Herald on Times-Herald.com, a wreck that involved a Coweta County Public Works Department guard, a Coweta County Prison inmate, and multiple vehicles injured four people.
As reported on Times-Herald.com, a driver of a Kia Sorento changed lanes while traveling east and hit another vehicle, a Smart Car, driven by Joseph Alexander, acording to the Sheriff’s Office. The Smart Car entered the median and hit the guard, William Duncan, and an inmate and then hit a county Public works truck and a trailer. The Kia lost control and then crossed back into the highway and then struck a utility pole and overturned.
According to the Sheriff’s office, charges are pending against the Kia driver.
Duncan and one of the drivers were airlifted in critical condition to an area hospital and two other people were also transported to an area hospital per the Coweta County Fire Department.
