10 Accident-Related Deaths this Labor Day Holiday Weekend
According to an Associated Press article on Savannahnow.com, the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) is reporting that 10 people were killed in vehicle wrecks in Georgia over the course of a 78-hour period during the Labor Day holiday.
The 10 people were involved in a total of 8 wrecks in Cobb, Gwinnett and Henry Counties according to police. Additionally, GSP officials from Douglas, Toccoa, Valdosta, Cartersville, and Madison also reported deadly wrecks.
There were 373 traffic accidents with 230 injuries reported.
A total of 240 people were arrested over the holiday weekend for driving under the influence. 983 tickets were issued by Troopers for seat belt violations.
