Atlanta Officer Charged in Wreck that Killed Woman

APD police officer Joshua Sieck, 31, has been charged with 2nd degree vehicular homicide after his patrol car crashed into a BMW driven by Jacqueline Culp, 59 of Atlanta. According to reports, Officer Sieck was responding to an emergency call when he crashed into Mrs. Culp’s vehicle just before 5:00 p.m. last Saturday.

Ms. Cup was transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where she passed away. Officer Sieck was transported to Grady with serious injuries after being extricated from his vehicle, which then caught fire. He has since been released according to reports. Additionally, the driver of a third vehicle, Kenyatta White, was also transported to Grady with non-life-threatening injuries according to the AJC.

The accident is still pending investigation and Officer Sieck is scheduled to make his first court appearance on September 5. Funeral services for Mrs. Culp were held today at 11:00 a.m., and our thoughts and prayers go out to her surviving husband, children, and rest of her family.
