According to wsbtv.com, charges are still pending for the shuttle bus driver and the tractor trailer driver in the crash which left 17 people injured including the driver of the shuttle.
John Bachman reports that federal and state investigators are still investigating the vehicles and have not released their reports yet. Police stated the collision occurred when the tractor trailer attempted to make a u-turn from the right hand lane. Upon making the u-turn, the shuttle bus drove into the tractor trailer causing 17 people to become injured. The driver for the shuttle bus has a Class C license and a commercial learner’s permit.
Charges are still pending. This collision has raised eyebrows as the company who owns the shuttle bus MTI recently signed a contract with the City of Atlanta which would award $151,000 contract for four year annual contract. The decision by the Atlanta City Council is on hold at this time.
