According to an article on ajc.com, a teen from Gwinnett was arrested and charged in a November 20 crash that killed a man.
Mackenzie Lauren Stephenson, 17-years-old, from Suwanee, was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and failure to yield.
Per the ajc.com article, the police report stated that Stephenson was at a stop sign on Old Cumming Road when she attempted a left-hand turn onto Ga. 20 into the path of a car driven by Charles Fairchild, 70, from Sugar Hill. Fairchild’s vehicle hit Stephenson’s pick-up truck on the driver’s side.
Police said that both vehicles were driving about 45 miles per hour when the wreck occured and that witnesses reported that Fairchild could not brake in time enough to prevent hitting the truck.
Fairchild was brought to an area hospital for treatment, however, later died. Stephenson was not injured in the wreck.
