According to an article on cumming.patch.com, a Dahlonega man died on Saturday as the result of a motorcycle wreck on Highway 53.
The motorcyclist, Sidney Paul Agent Jr., 45, died from injuries resulting after a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Jimmy Darrell Barnett Jr., 41, pulled in front of Agent’s 1978 Harley Low Rider when attempted a left-hand turn. An investigator from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office stated Agent was unable to avoid the collision with the Trailblazer and was ejected from his motorcycle into the side of the Trailblazer.
Agent was transported to Grady by air. He passed away later in the day as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Barnett, the driver of the Trailblazer did not suffer injuries from the wreck. Melody Cowart, 39, from Dahlonega, was a passenger of Barnett’s and was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital.
Charges are pending the results of a full investigation of the incident.
We offer our sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Agent and do hope that Ms. Cowart is able to make a full and quick recovery from her injuries.
