Ohio Woman Dies in Atlanta SUV Crash
24-year-old Arianna Thompson of Toledo, Ohio died after the SUV she was riding in flipped and crashed into a median wall last weekend. She had been in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital until she passed away the Monday following the collision.
The incident occurred on 1-85 near the GA-400 exit. Ms. Thompson was riding in a Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling northbound on 1-85. The driver of the Tahoe attempted to change lanes but was unsuccessful, and the Tahoe struck a Jeep Wrangler, rolled over several times, and stopped against the median wall.
Ms. Thompson was riding in the front seat when the accident happened. She was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from the vehicle when it rolled. The drivers of Tahoe and the Jeep were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Atlanta police will determine whether or not to charge either of the two drivers pending completion of an investigation.
Hopefully the investigation will determine who was responsible for causing the collision.
It is important to remember that wearing a seat belt can be the difference between life and death.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Ms. Thompson and her loved ones. It is such a terrible tragedy that this young woman lost her life.
