According to an article on Savannahnow.com, a 19-year-old woman was injured after being hit by a car while attempting to cross Derenne Avenue at Waters Avenue at approximately 3:45 a.m. this morning.
The injured pedestrian, Kelsea Tompkins, and the driver of the vehicle that hit her, Ester Grace Simmons, were both transported to a Savannah hospital for treatment. Per the article, Ms. Tompkins sustained serious, however, non-life threatening injuries and Ms. Simmons had complaints of pain.
The incident is under investigation by Metro’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
