According to Times-Herald.com, dump truck and a Ford Focus collided head-on on Collinsworth Road on Monday sending 4 people to the hospital.
Per witnesses, a Ford Focus traveling east on Collinsorth near Goodlin Road “appeared to run off the road and then overcorrected” after which time the Focus hit the dump truck head-on. The dump truck had a trailor and was carrying a Bobcat.
The Focus driver, Jessica Sims, 23 and her husband, Phillip Sims, 25 of Auburn were airlifted to an Atlanta-area trauma center. They had to be removed from their vehicle because they were both trapped. Police report that they both suffered “serious injuries.” The driver of the dump truck, Milton Negron-Martinez, 31, and the passenger in the truck, Rivera Urieol, 32, were taken by ambulance to an Atlanta hospital.
The incident is currently under investigation.
We offer our best wishes to Jessica and Phillips Sims and to Mr. Urieol and Mr. Negron-Martinez. We certainly hope everyone is able to make a full recovery from their injuries.
