According to police, a Cumming man was killed Wednesday in a crash north of Haynes Bridge Road on Ga. 400.
The man was identifed as Edward Kivlin, 67 years old. Kivlin died at the scene of the wreck. A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a Honda Civic travelled out of their lane, hitting Kivlin’s Nissan Pathfinder, which was in an adjacent lane. Both of the drivers lost control after impact. The Nissan was then hit by a Dodge minivan that was riding the ramp onto 400 North. The Nissan then overturned and careened down an embankment.
The person driving the Civic was transported to an area hospital, and the minivan driver was not injured.
The wreck is under investigation.
We offer our sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Kivlin after his tragic loss. We hope that the injured driver is able to make a full and quick recovery.
