One Worker Injured In Airport Hangar Collapse Has Died

30-year-old, Christopher Mathis, from Valdosta, died on Monday after injuries he sustained last Wednesday when a hangar collapsed at a Paulding County airport according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on ajc.com.

Blake Swafford, Airport Director, reported to the AJC that 8-10 workers were on-site when the incident occured. The workers were working on support bracing for a new 30,000 sf corporate hangar.

Another worker was also hurt in the incident, however, he has since been released from the hospital.

The incident is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and it is also trying to be determined if wind had anything to do with the hanger collapsing.
