It was a chain reaction that occurred on I-20 Saturday when the school buses were transporting kids from Burke County to Six Flags amusement park in metro Atlanta. According to a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson, the traffic had slowed on I-20 due to a closed lane, However, when the buses began to slow, one of the six buses hit another from behind, causing the chain of collisions.
The driver, Angela Benjamin Jones, 44, from Midville was trapped in the wreck and was airlifted to Grady for injuries after being cut from her bus by rescue workers. Police said that two others were injured and 50 people were examined for the possibility of injury at local hospitals. Except for the bus driver, no injuries appeared to be serious according to the article.
The crash remained under investigation.
