According to an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitition on ajc.com, a teen died Monday night after being involved in a two-vehicle wreck in Cobb.
Police say that the incident occurred after 11:00p.m. on Bells Ferry Road where Barrett Parkway becomes Piedmont Road. A Kia Sorento was driving eastbound on Barrett approaching Bells Ferry and a Mazda was heading west on Piedmont. When the Kia was crossing Bells Ferry, the Mazda’s driver attempted a U-turn from Piedmont. It was at this time that the Kia and the Mazda collided. The Kia hit the passenger side door of the Maza, killing the Mazda’s passenger, Laquan Hilton, 17, from Acworth.
The Mazda’s driver, Gabriel Hidalgo, 19, of Woodstock, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. The driver of the Kia, Michael Williams, 26, from Marietta, was also transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The wreck is under investigation. Anyone with information is being asked to call authorities at 770-499-3987.
We offer our sympathies to the family and friends of Laquan Hilton after his sudden and tragic passing. We hope that Mr. Hidalgo and Mr. Williams are able to make full and quick recoveries from their injuries.
