According to an article on WSAV.com, an accident involving one car took the life of a one-month old boy Monday night.
The wreck occurred on I-516 around 11:15 p.m. along the exit ramp to Veterans Parkway, and police report that 29-year-old Natasha Thomas, flipped her GMC Jimmy after losing control.
The infant that died, Eric Goodwin, was ejected from the vehicle. Police say the baby was in a car seat, however. Natasha Thomas and two other children, 5-year-old, Na’Chelle Thomas, and 10-year-old, Na’Erykah Goodwin were injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries according to authorities. The baby was also transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Per police, Thomas dialed 911 and stated that her vehicle was struck by another car before she overturned.
Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are conducting an investigation and are asking the public to report any information on the wreck to Traffic Investigation at 525-2421 or to Crimestoppers at 234-2020. Information can also be texted to CRIMES (274637).
Our sincere sympathies to Ms. Thomas and her family as they mourn the loss of little Eric. We do hope that Ms. Thomas and her children are able to make full recoveries from their injuries.
