According to cbsatlanta.com, Senior Police Officer Gail D. Thomas, 46 years old, was killed after a drunk driver, Chasity Jones, 22, from Stone Mountain hit her with her vehicle while she was assisting another officer along I-75 in Midtown.
The officer died at the scene. According to police, Jones’ breathalyzer test result was a .16, which is two times the legal limit.
Per the cbsatlanta.com article, Officer Thomas was assisting another officer who was investigating a separate wreck. She was hit by Jones as soon as she stepped out of her police car.
