Bryan Jones, 27, died at Memorial Medical center after being hit at the corner of Montgomery Street and 56th Street.
The 2010 Chevrolet Camero that hit Jones was driven by 21-year-old Nicholas Thomas. Thomas stopped after the incident and answered questions for police. There were several witnesses as well.
More details are pending at this time. It is unknown if Thomas will face any charges.
Currently it is unclear if there were passengers or any distractions which would have taken the driver’s eyes and attention off the road. Equally important is we do not know what type of clothing and how well the intersection was lit up at the time of the collision.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mr. Jones and all those affected by this tragic event.
