In Georgia, after you are taken out of work by an authorized treating physician for more than seven (7) days you are entitled to weekly income benefits.
The benefits are calculated based upon your average weekly wage. The calculation is based upon 13 weeks prior to your work injury. If you have not worked the substantial whole of 13 weeks prior to your work injury there are other methods to calculate what you average weekly wage is for the purposes of workmans comp.
If you have been taken out of work for more than three weeks and have not been issued checks you need to speak with a Savannah | Chatham county workers’ compensation attorney. Contact one today.
