My employer wants me to sign some documents transferring my case from workers’ compensation to something else, whether it’s family medical leave or what have you. It is always recommended if you have been hurt on the job that you (1) you should reach out to a Georgia workers’ compensation attorney but more importantly, you definitely need to reach out to one if the employer is pushing you to sign something that may or may not take away your rights to pursue either workers’ compensation or any other type of benefit that you may be entitled to. When you’re giving up your rights, you wanna know what those rights are that you’re giving up so that you can make the best, most educated decision that will benefit you and your family and not the employer. And a lot of times when the employers want you to randomly sign something and won’t let you have a copy of it to discuss with your attorney, you can probably bet that that’s not s, gonna to be something that’s good for you and your family.
