Frequently Asked Questions • Car Crash
• How much is my case worth?
This is probably the most asked question when dealing with a car crash. Unfortunately it is a difficult question to answer. There are several factors that go into determining the value of a car crash, each case is unique. Call our office to discuss what is important for you to know, and to protect your rights before dealing with the insurance company.
• Why do I need an attorney?
Legal Counsel protects your legal rights! The Insurance company spends a lot of money training their adjustors to minimize their claims or minimize your claim. You need someone representing your interest and protecting your rights, someone with experience in handling car crash claims that equals the insurance adjustors. Call our office today to discuss your legal rights and how our firm can protect them!
• Should I sign the medical release for the insurance company?
This is an excellent example of why you should contact legal counsel. You should let your legal counsel make that determination. Often times the medical release authorization is not limited. If the release is not limited the insurance company could request all of your private medical records even the ones that do not deal with your collision. Call to find out your legal rights today 770-948-5454.
• Should I give the insurance company a recorded statement?
This question depends on who is asking. If it is your insurance company you may be required to give a recorded statement because of the language in your insurance policy or agreement.
• I have been dealing with the insurance company and have given them everything they want; now they are telling me they are denying the claim. Do I have any recourse?
Likely the insurance company has received information that makes them feel confident that they are not responsible for your car crash. At this time you should stop speaking with the insurance company and seek legal counsel to see what legal rights you have.
• The other driver got the ticket; do I need to go to court?
Absolutely! Sometimes people who are not issued tickets are told they do not need to show up for court. Our position is we need to prepare for the worst, as such, we believe you must show up for court. Often times a Judge will dismiss a ticket when no witnesses are present to testify. If you are present it is likely the Judge will ask about your property damage and verify everything is being taken care of through the insurance company. If you are not being helped by the insurance company, the Judge could help your case but only if you are present.
• Should I use my health insurance for my medical treatment?
There are several forms of insurance that may be available if you are injured. Contact our office 770-948-5454 so that we may discuss what options you may have in regards to your situation.
