5 Year Old Atlanta Boy Attacked by Pit Bull

As reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution a 5 year old boy was attacked by a pit bull as he exited his vehicle.

The attack occurred in the 700 block of Lexington Avenue in Atlanta.  Animal control was able to capture the animal.

In Atlanta, there are leash laws that apply to all dog owners.  If found in violation of the leash laws the owner of the pit bull could be liable for the damages that were inflicted upon this 5 year old boy.

With pet ownership comes responsibility.  The primary responsibility is to maintain control of your animal especially if you have what is considered a dangerous breed in a pit bull.

Circumstances on whether the pit bull was running free or escaped have not been released and according to police the investigation is still under way.
