According to Covnews.com, 65-year old, James Burton Eenhuis, was killed after being hit on his motorcycle last Thursday night. Eenhuis was riding his motorcycle westbound on Hwy 81 when he was struck by a woman driving a 2002 Hyundai Accent making a left hand turn from Carroll Street. Eenhuis was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
It is unclear at this time if the accident was caused by mechanical failure or if the driver of the car was distracted or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Georgia State Patrol Spokesperson, Gordy Wright, stated that charges are still pending following the completion of an investigation by the GSP's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr. Eenhuis during this time of loss.
