Georgia Food Poisoning Lawyer | Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Recalled

About 4,140 pounds of cooked chicken breasts are being recalled by North Carolina company, House of Raeford Farms, due to the possibility of Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The products that are affected by the recall include 18 to 22-pound boxes that hold two 9 to 11-pound "Boneless oven Roasted Chicken Breast" and were distributed to delis and food service establishements in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina for additional processing.

If a person consumes a food that is contaminated by Listeria monocytogenes, it can cause listeriosis. Although, not common in healthy people, the disease can be serious and fatal in certain populations, such as people witih weak immune systems, young children and infants, elderly people, those with HIV, or those undergoing chemotherapy. Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths. Symptoms can include fever, severe headache, stiff neck, and nausea.
