Kansas company, National Beef Packing Co. LLC, is recalling over 60,000 pounds of ground beef that could be contaminated by
E. coli O157:H7 according to the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS).

E. coli infection can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and in very serious cases, kidney failure. People with weak immune systems are at greater risk for infection for foodborne illness.
The FSIS advises consumers to prepare raw meat in a safe manner, and cooking ground beef to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F and to use a food thermometer to ensure
adequate cooking temperatures.
