Jaymie Allison, 30, died on Saturday after sustaining injures in a motorcycle wreck that occurred on Thursday, said Savannah-Chatham police.
As reported by the Savannah Morning News on savannahnow.com, Todd Long, 37 and Jaymie Allison, 30, were both injured following a motorcycle accident after midnight on Thursday. A metro police spokesman, Julian Miller reported each was riding a Harley Davidson on East Gateway Blvd. when Allison lost control of her bike and slid it across the road. Long, who was traveling behind Allison, struck her as she lost control.
Both victims were brought to Memorial University Medical Center where Allison passed away. Long was released on Sunday. The two drivers were charged with DUI. It is unclear if there were any additional mechanical problems with the motorcycle or if there was any substance or road conditions which may have contributed to the motorcycle's loss of control.
The victims and their families remain in our thoughts and prayers.
