A Dallas woman, Trisha M. Miller, 38, was killed on Tuesday after a dump truck plowed into two cars in Cobb County. Another motorist, Louis R. Duckwall Jr., 56, of Marietta, was seriously injured in the same wreck.
According to an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on ajc.com, police say the dump truck driver, Jason Chatham, 34, of Powder Springs was not injured.
Investigators of the wreck report that the dump truck was traveling east on Dallas Hwy, west of the Sandtown Road intersection when the driver attempted to stop for a traffic light. He then ran through the light and into the left turn lane striking Miller's Kia making a left onto Dallas Hwy. The dump truck and Miller's car then hit Duckwall's Nissan Sentra.
Duckwall and Miller were taken to Wellstar Kennestone, where Miller died.
Charges are expected to be filed against the dump truck driver. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the wreck to call 770-499-3987.
