According to an article on gainesvilletimes.com, a 9-year-old girl was attacked by a pit bull in her home at McEver Vineyards Apartments. The dog belonged to a family friend.
The girl, Adrinna Adkins, was trying to protect her cat from the dog when the incident occurred. Instead of biting the cat, the dog bit Adrinna on her upper body from her elbows to above her shoulders. She was transported by flight to an Atlanta children's hospital.
Police found the dog at a nearby playground and were able to capture it. It was taken to Hall County Animal Control.
We hope that Adrinna is able to make a full recovery from her injuries from this terrifying incident.
