According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on ajc.com, a motorcyclist was killed Wednesday on I-85 at the I-985 split.
Lonnie Cross, 35, was riding his motorcycle on I-85 North when he hit a tire tread that had been hit by another vehicle, which caused him to lose control. He ended up in the center lane in the path of a tractor-trailer, which then ran him over, which could not be avoided per police.
Mr. Cross passed away at Gwinnett Medical Center.
