Off-duty Officer Shot at Stone Mountain Apartment Complex

According to Fox 5 News on myfoxatlanta.com, an off-duty DeKalb police officer was robbed and shot at an apartment complex in Stone Mountain.
32-year-old, Lander Burton, of the Tucker precinct, was reportedly visiting a friend at the Landmark at Mountain View Apartments at Green Bark Circle West when he was apparently ambushed by two men armed with handguns as he was getting out of his personal vehicle. The officer was trying to defend himself when he was hit from behind with a bullet say police. The officer's wallet including his badge were taken.
As a property owner they should immediately attempt to rectify what ever security issues they have. It is unclear from this story if there has been prior occurences or not.
According to police, a person of interest has been identified, however, it was not clear at the time of this report if the suspect was in custody. No charges have been filed at this time.
The officer was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and was in stable but critical condition at the time of this report.
