According to an Associated Press article on WTOC.com, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported that one person has died and 76 people in 26 states have been sickened from the same strain of salmonella. The illnesses have been linked to ground turkey. At this time, it is not known where the turked was produced, nor has a recall been issued.
States involved in the outbreak include Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee, and the illnesses date back to March of this year.
