According to an article published on Savannhnow.com, an accident that occurred at Ga. 25 and Chief O.F. Love Road sent one person to the hospital. The crash is being investigated by The Savannah-Chatham Police Major Accident Investigations Team.
Investigators reported that 77-year old Harvey Reid, the driver of a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe, was attempting a left turn on Chief O.F. Love Road and turned into the path of Oscar Carrera, 20, the driver of a Ford Clubwagon.
This appears to be a failure to yield what is undetermined is if this was related to any mechanical failure or the other driver traveling too fast for conditions. The investigation should help determine if anyone is clearly at fault.
Unfortunately, due to older vehicles which are still allowed on the street, some do not possess safety belts and that appears to have aggravated the injuries sustained by the person who was ejected.
Both drivers were not injured, but one passenger was ejected from the vehicle and taken to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
