According to an article posted on Oconee.Patch.com, two people from Watkinsville were seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a minivan.
Dala Griffeth, 26, was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center and the passenger Rachel Griffeth, 24, was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center after the wreck.
A spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol reported that Griffeth was heading South on his motorcycle on Thurmond Road in Barrow County when a 66-year-old woman backed her minivan out of a driveway and hit the motorcycle.
The minivan driver was not injured. She was cited, however, with failure to yield.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Griffeths as they recover from this unfortunate event.
